I can’t claim to have invented any of these tricks, but I see profiles all of the time, which would benefit from small tweaks to really stand out and shine!
LETS START WITH BIO TRICKS (Part 1 of 3 – stories tricks coming up next week)
1- Add Line Breaks to Your Bio
Getting frustrated because IG removes your line breaks? Here’s a quick-fix for your bio. You just need to log in to Instagram on your PC/laptop. From your profile page, click “Edit Profile”. You just need to write your bio into the text box! Tap “Submit” when you’re done, and it will update on your profile — including all line breaks included!
2- Tag profiles or hashtags in your bio
This could be really handy if you’re managing more than one account for your brand, or if you’re running a branded hashtag campaign.
3- Appear in More Search Results on the Explore Page
The “Name” field in your Instagram bio is searchable, but you knew that. By including keywords in your name field, you increase your chances of appearing in Instagram’s Explore page.
4- Emojis
Not only can you use emojis in your bio to add style and character, you can also try special characters – the original emoji! These can add a more sophisticated look, which still adding a special something to your bio. Have a look what your competition are using. Most wellness and organic brands use the green leaf emoji. You might want to follow suit here or decide that you’re going to stand out and use the green heart instead!
5- Ask a friend to read your bio.
Better yet, post it somewhere online ideally in a safe facebook group of supportive peers. Ask them if they are clear about what you’re offering in your business from reading you bio. Does it have warmth or personality? Does it communicate your values and clearly state what your services or products are? That challenge here it that you are VERY limited in characters- 150! You can write more by using a link in bio. Your top link in your bio link can be an extended bio. From time to time you can also ensure that your posts communicate your services, products or values to keep things fresh and up to date.
Let me know in the comments of my Instagram, how many of these you already use.
